Rich Robinson, President

Hometown:
Centerville, OH / Port Orchard, WA (It's near Seattle)

What year did you begin working at DML? 
2005

What positions have you held at DML, and at what locations have you worked? 
Web Specialist, IT Services @ main

What do you consider to be the best thing about working at DML? 
The people I work with in IT (even though I'll catch flak for admitting it).

What is your favorite book OR movie OR hobby?
Welcome to the Monkey House by Kurt Vonnegut Life as a House Playing/Coaching/Watching Soccer

What is your favorite place to visit/vacation? 
It's hard to say. My favorite vacation is to visit a place I've never been before. For a recurring place, I guess it'd be Yellowstone Park and the areas around it in Wyoming and Montana (and even Idaho).

Name an interesting fact about yourself that most people wouldn't know.
When I lived in Germany, I drank a yard of ale in 58 seconds...

Suzanne Schiml, Vice President & Chief Steward

Hometown:
Dayton, Ohio

What year did you begin working at DML? 
1988

What positions have you held at DML, and at what locations have you worked? 
LTA-1 (Main Circulation), LTA-3 (Northmont, Main AVD, Burkhardt), Branch & Extension Assistant, Reference Assistant (Burkhardt).

What do you consider to be the best thing about working at DML? 
I have met some wonderful people over the years.  Both staff and patrons.

What is your favorite book?
No Ordinary Time by Doris Kearns Goodwin (Nonfiction); Kane & Abel by Jeffrey Archer (Fiction)

What is your favorite place to visit/vacation? 
Washington D.C.

Name an interesting fact about yourself that most people wouldn't know.
Of the six positions I have held at the library, I only actually applied for two of them.  However, over the years I have applied for more positions than I can count.  Strange, but true!

Chris Zurbuchen, Treasurer

Hometown:
Yellow Springs

What year did you begin working at DML? 
1993

What positions have you held at DML, and at what locations have you worked?
I’ve always been in the basement of the Main Library as PC Specialist! 

What do you consider to be the best thing about working at DML?
The people are wonderful.  I also believe in the mission of why a library exists.

What is your favorite book?
“Too many books, too little time.”  I enjoy biographies, Janet Evanovich’s series, and murder mysteries.  A chilling sci-fi I enjoyed is HandMaid’s Tale, by Margaret Atwood.

What is your favorite place to visit/vacation?
I love to visit my daughter in Seattle.  I love to ski the Rockies.  I love to travel.

Name an interesting fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know.
I was born in Switzerland.  My father worked for NCR in Switzerland and was offered work in Dayton.

What year did you begin working at DML? 
1986

What positions have you held at DML, and at what locations have you worked?
Library Aide, LTI I, Training Assistant (twice), Systems Operator

What do you consider to be the best thing about working at DML?
The people! Most of them!!

What is your favorite movie?
I collect movies and currently have over 700. Very hard to chose just one!

What is your favorite place to visit/vacation?
I load up the kids and head to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan every summer.

Name an interesting fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t know.
I am currently rehabbing my 7th house, and I have done countless other projects for friends and family.

Jen Kadel, Communications & Membership

Hometown:
Casstown, Ohio

What year did you begin working at DML? 
1999

What positions have you held at DML, and at what locations have you worked?
Reference Librarian in Adult Services at Main from 1999 to 2001.  Training Specialist since 2001. 

What do you consider to be the best thing about working at DML?
I love our staff members!  I have the best job in the system because I get to meet all of our new employees.  I really do enjoy getting to know our talented, diverse staff.

What is your favorite book?
The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews

What is your favorite place to visit/vacation?
Lake Tahoe in Nevada

Name an interesting fact about yourself that most people wouldn't know.
I participated in 4-H for 10 years. I showed sheep for all 10 of those years, rabbits for 2 years, pigs for 2 years, and a steer once.
