PUBLICIZING OUR LEVY
-
LAPEL STICKERS
- Lapel stickers have arrived and are being distributed now. Each sticker has the words “Save Our Library” on the left and “Vote For 40” on the right.
- These can be worn at all times by volunteers but ONLY during non-working hours by library staff.
- Great places to wear these are at all events, football games, grocery shopping, and anywhere else you might run into people.
- Ask your manager or supervisor to get stickers for you and any library supporters you know.

A lot of people have been wondering what's going on with the levy campaign. Our members are seeing very little literature and very little campaign swag (signs, lapel stickers, etc), and not a lot of activity, and it's been causing some concern. I'm going to take a couple minutes to try to address a couple issues. Be first to comment this article | Print | E-mail |

The Library's levy campaign needs LOTS of volunteers! DMLSA members can sign up at www.protectourlibrary.org by clicking on the Volunteer link at the top. (You should not use your library e-mail account when signing up to volunteer; be sure to use a personal e-mail address.) On this website you can also join the Facebook friends too by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.
We need so many volunteers that DMLSA members will need to recruit family, friends, and neighbors to help, too. They too can use the www.protectourlibrary.org web site to volunteer.
For those DMLSA members who have already signed up to volunteer and have not yet heard anything-sit tight because you should be hearing something soon. The campaign is kicking into high gear.
You should be aware that we cannot do levy volunteer work while we are being paid by the Library. We cannot use Library resources for the campaign. We cannot use our library e-mail account for the campaign; personal e-mail addresses must be used. These restrictions make it more difficult to operate, but these are restrictions imposed upon the Library by law.
Our patrons measure the Library by what they see in our eyes, the tone of our voice, and the level of service we provide. This measurement will dictate how they vote on November 3rd. If we feel disgruntled or think the Library should do things this way or that way, it will show. Any angry or distrustful feelings that may be lingering must be put aside for the next two months. Right now, at this moment in time, we must be unequivocal in our support and passion for the Library. Nothing else is more important than the passage of this levy for the Library and ALL of its employees.
