To facilitate better communication, I've implemented a "Pizza with the Prez" program. Twice a month, I will travel to a branch or agency and I will join them for lunch...on me. I'm providing $50 (out of my pocket, not DMLSA money) to pay for pizza, and I will bring it to the location of your choice. If you're interested in this program, contact your agency rep, who can contact me to set up lunch.

Health Insurance: Current Status |

NOTE: Much of this information is based on the fact that our health insurance claims increased by 31% last year. For the details, click here.
The LMC met again today to discuss health plans to be offered by the Library for the next plan year. There are no good options available. As many of you know from the Library's newsletter article, a plan has been set in motion by HR. This (rather lengthy - sorry) article is about HR's plan and about our options and our response to the plan.

Your agency representatives should be receiving the first print newsletter (February 2008) via interoffice mail. I have sent one copy for every bargaining unit member in your agency. If you do not know who your agency representative is, click on the Agency Representatives button at the right once you have logged into the site.

The Labor-Management Committee met yesterday to go over insurance coverage for all the library's insured employees (bargaining unit, confidential, and management). The meeting began with a review of health insurance claims. Last year was not kind to us as an insurable group.
